Legal Administrative Receptionist
Katz Banks Kumin LLP, a boutique employment and whistleblower law firm in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, CA, and Philadelphia, PA, seeks to hire a Legal Administrative Receptionist in its Washington, D.C. office. The firm specializes in employment discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower, wage and hour, and civil rights matters. Primary Job Duties
- Greeting clients and other guests at the Firm’s front desk
- Answering phones
- Scheduling appointments and responding to inquiries
- Receiving and distributing mail and other deliveries to the Firm
- Compiling client materials
- Finalizing and sending correspondence
- Processing payments
- Maintaining the common areas of the office
- Other office administrative support tasks as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
At least two years of experience in a law or professional services office is strongly preferred. At least one year (combined) of comparable experience in a professional setting (e.g., law, medical, or other professional services office) is required.
The candidate must be highly organized, attentive to detail, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, and able to communicate consistently with professionalism with current or potential clients and other individuals contacting the Firm. The ideal candidate will appreciate the importance of supporting the work of the Firm by managing key operational and office administrative tasks, and will welcome the opportunity to become a long-term member of our team.
Due to the nature of these duties, this position cannot be performed remotely, and requires presence in the office on days when the Firm is open for business.
We are looking to hire immediately, but have some flexibility around start date.
Base annual compensation is $55,000 ($26.44 / hour); salary may be adjusted based on experience. This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime.

Katz Banks Kumin LLP, a boutique employment and whistleblower law firm with offices in Washington, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and New York, will soon be accepting applications for a one-year Litigation Fellowship position starting in Fall 2025. The Katz Banks Kumin Litigation Fellowship offers talented new attorneys the opportunity to work on important whistleblower, employment discrimination, and civil rights cases with our Firm’s experienced practitioners. Our Fellows are deeply involved in all aspects and stages of our whistleblower and employment discrimination cases, from developing and investigating cases, interviewing clients, participating in settlement negotiations, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and attending legal proceedings with (and under the supervision of) the Firm’s skilled attorneys.
Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to employment law, civil rights, and/or public interest issues; strong academic credentials; superior analytical, research, writing, and verbal skills; the ability to multitask and balance a varied case load; and Bar membership pending or obtained prior to starting with the Firm.
