Titled "Blowing the Whistle as a Cybersecurity Professional," the piece provides an overview of the laws and protections available to cybersecurity professionals who report their employer's cyber vulnerabilities or breaches. Although the laws that provide protections to cybersecurity whistleblowers were not written with cybersecurity professionals in mind, their protections may still extend to employees who report cybersecurity concerns. The article also provides guidance on the steps cybersecurity whistleblowers should take to strengthen their whistleblower claims, such as articulating the connection between the cybersecurity deficiency and a potential legal violation.
