Debra Katz Honored as Law360 Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar

Katz Banks Kumin partner Debra Katz was honored by Law360 as a 2019 “Titan of the Plaintiffs Bar.” The annual list recognizes ten influential plaintiff-side attorneys who had a significant impact in the past year by winning in the courtroom, negotiating successful settlements, handling pro bono matters, and assuming leadership roles.
Ms. Katz earned her spot as a Titan for her work representing victims of sexual assault and harassment, and whistleblowers fired in retaliation for reporting misconduct. While she is known nationally for her representation of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford during her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee during the confirmation hearings of then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Ms. Katz fought to secure justice for many clients this past year. Among the many, Ms. Katz represented Chloe Caras, a former Director of Operations for Isabella Eatery who was sexually harassed and fired when she spoke out about her mistreatment; Vanessa Tyson, who has alleged she was sexually assaulted by Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax; and Julian Craig, the former Chief Medical Officer of United Medical Center who was fired for testifying to the D.C. Council about the hospital’s unsafe medical practices.
