KBK Welcomes New Attorneys, Communications Director
Katz Banks Kumin LLP is pleased to welcome four exceptional attorneys to the firm’s Washington, D.C. office: senior associate Matthew LaGarde, associates Susanna Barron and Sarah Nesbitt, and litigation fellow Suzanna Bobadilla.
The firm has also hired a communications director, Alex Bradley, to oversee the organization’s public relations and marketing efforts
Matthew LaGarde first joined KBK in 2011 as a paralegal before becoming an associate in 2016. During his previous tenure at the firm, he co-authored the “Cybersecurity Whistleblower Protection Guide,” an overview of the protections and rewards available to cybersecurity whistleblowers under federal and state law. He returned to the firm after serving as a judicial clerk to Judge George L. Russell, III, of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Matt received his J.D. in 2016 from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law.
Susanna Barron joined KBK after working as an associate at a plaintiff’s employment law firm in New York, where she represented clients in employment and civil rights matters before the EEOC and in state and federal courts. Prior to her work in New York, she was a staff attorney at First Shift Justice Project and a legal fellow at A Better Balance. In 2023, she was recognized in Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list for Employment Litigation. She received her J.D. in 2018 from Harvard Law School.
Sarah Nesbitt joined KBK after working as an employment litigation fellow and then as an associate at a plaintiff-side employment law firm in Washington, D.C., where she represented employees in discrimination and retaliation cases. She also established a practice representing student survivors of sexual violence in administrative and institutional investigations. She received her J.D. in 2021 from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Suzanna Bobadilla received her J.D. in 2023 from Harvard Law School, where she served as the president of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, a student-run legal services office. Throughout law school, she worked as a law clerk for the National Domestic Workers’ Alliance. She spent her summers interning at a civil rights law firm and A Better Balance.

Alex Bradley is a communications professional who has served in various key communications roles in the public and private sector. He previously served as the principal speechwriter for former Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, and as the Deputy Press Secretary for former Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey. Most recently, Alex worked as a Strategic Communications Manager at a communications firm in Washington, D.C.
