Lisa Banks and Carolyn Wheeler Participate in ABA Labor and Employment Conference
Katz Banks Kumin partner Lisa Banks and senior counsel Carolyn Wheeler spoke at the 12th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference presented by the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law. The conference’s programs and activities addressed different aspects of employment law – from focuses on certain practice areas to discussions on the impact of technology and immigration on the workplace.
Ms. Banks spoke on a whistleblower panel called “False Claims Act: 10 New Developments.” The panelists focused on how the Supreme Court case, Escobar, changes the materiality standard, as well as FCA retaliation developments, first-to-file issues, and more.
Ms. Wheeler moderated a panel, “Perspectives from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,” which hosted EEOC Commissioners and General Counsel, Victoria Lipnic and Chai Feldblum. The panelists covered recent developments from administrative and court decisions, and their expectations for the upcoming year.
