Lisa Banks and Debra Katz to Host Panels at ABA Labor and Employment Law Conference

Katz Banks Kumin partners Lisa Banks and Debra Katz will be panelists at the 11th Annual Section of Labor and Employment Law Conference, sponsored by the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law.

The conference is highlighted by thought-provoking sessions on the aging workforce, marriage equality and religious liberty, and an update on the Supreme Court. Much of the program will cover and analyze the changes in employment law enacted under the current administration.

Lisa Banks will be a panelist under the “Practice and Professionalism” section and will speak about the co-counsel relationship, and what to do when disagreements arise. The ethical and legal questions are tough, and this panel will provide guidance on how to avoid and resolve disputes amicably. Ms. Banks will be speaking alongside Angela F. Ramson of Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

Debra Katz will participate on the panel, “Navigating the Interplay of Whistleblower Reward and Whistleblower Retaliation Claims.” This topic addresses multiple issues ranging from the complex relationship from whistleblower rewards and retaliation claims, to addressing the challenges posed by parallel proceedings. Ms. Katz will be joined by Lloyd B. Chinn of Proskauer Rose LLP, Scott R. Koch of JPMorgan Chase, Jane Norberg from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and Linda Wawzenski out of the Northern District of Illinois U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The conference will take place November 8-11 in Washington, D.C. For more information regarding logistics and registering, click here, and find the full conference brochure here.
