Katz Banks Kumin partner Michael Filoromo was recently quoted in the CNN article, “What the workplace harassment law reform will mean for you.”  

On February 10, the Senate passed the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Harassment Act, which bans forced arbitration in sexual misconduct cases and allows survivors to bring their cases to court. One of the most significant impacts of the bill is that it will give employees the opportunity to make their allegations public, something that Mr. Filoromo says can make an impact on survivors. 

“It’s tough to bring these cases. It’s tough to come forward. It takes a lot of courage,” Mr. Filoromo said. “And then if you’re also dealing with your credibility being attacked, and not even really having knowledge that there are other witnesses that could back you up – that’s a real problem.”
