Northeastern Women in Law Conference
Katz Banks Kumin partner Debra Katz spoke at the Northeastern Women in the Law Conference on the panel, “#MeToo in the Workplace.” The Women in the Law conference attracts women attorneys and other professionals from around the country to discuss current events and recent developments in women’s rights and the law. The program also provides career guidance and professional development advice.
Ms. Katz’s panel addressed how the #MeToo movement can evolve from simply raising the issue of sexual assault and harassment to becoming a key aspect of the national consciousness. Ms. Katz discussed preventative measures employers can take to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all workers.
Joining Ms. Katz on the panel were Amy Carlin, a partner at Morgan, Brown & Joy; Beth Myers, a partner at Powers, Jodoin, Margolis & Mante; and Hema Sarang-Sieminski, a senior staff attorney at the Victim Rights Law Center. The panel was moderated by Mala Rafik, a partner at Rosenfeld & Rafik.
