Rachel Green Discusses Whistleblower Protections on New York Public Radio

Katz Banks Kumin associate Rachel Green recently appeared on “The Takeaway” with Melissa Harris-Perry to discuss New York’s recently enacted whistleblower protections.
Prior to the new legislation, New York lagged behind federal law in the protections that it offered to whistleblowers, particularly healthcare workers reporting workplace violations during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Ms. Green, the new protections are beneficial to all whistleblowers, not just those in policymaking positions.
“I think a lot of these changes make this law more accessible and more understandable to the average employee who might not be working in those high-level policy parts of their job,” Ms. Green said.
