Carolyn Wheeler Publishes ABA Journal Article on Culture Wars and Religious Discrimination
KBK partner Carolyn Wheeler is the author of a new article in the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law, a publication of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law.
In her article, “Impact of Contemporary “Culture Wars” on Religious Discrimination Claims and Defenses,” Ms. Wheeler examines how courts are applying Title VII’s reasonable accommodation requirement and employers’ undue hardship defense to religious discrimination claims arising out of today’s most culturally divisive workplace disputes. Ms. Wheeler traces the developing case law in this area and considers what it means for employees and employers navigating these claims.
Ms. Wheeler writes and speaks frequently on religious discrimination in employment, including the scope of the ministerial exception and the intersection of religion and politics at work.
